In Seattle it is not uncommon for the dreary rainy days to out number the crisp autumn days that I love. Thankfully there is a simple remedy to the dreariest of autumn days. An arrangement of autumn flowers can make your home blossom even as the sky grows gray. Think of it as bringing the best of autumn into your home. The bright hues of the turning leaves, and the warmth of a fire all in a single floral arrangement.
In the past we have touched on the important roll that flowers and plants can play in making your home feel like a warm and inviting place. Hearing the sound of rain coming down and the rush of cars outside my window I am reminded of how dreary this time of year can feel, and how important it is to feel welcome in your own home. The vibrant colors of autumn flowers could not be a more perfect antidote to the doldrums we feel when we get up in the dark only to feel like we are turning around and coming home in the dark at the end of the day.
Decorating your dining table with a Bountiful Cornucopia over flowing with autumn flowers or a candle lit spray of roses and chrysanthemums is the perfect way to make your guests feel at home. If that seems a little too fancy then you might find a pumpkin filled with bright orange and burgundy flowers more to your liking. Or if you are like me, a simple modern cube brimming with warm autumn tones is enough to chase away the blues at the end of the day when I sit down at my desk to putter around on the internet.
